Serrano Ham Croquette

with Natural Goat Cheese

Ingredients

Natural goat cheese

300 g

Serrano ham

100 g

Black pepper

To taste, freshly ground.

Wheat flour

Half a cup

Eggs

2 pieces

Panko or breadcrumbs

One cup

Vegetable oil

Necessary amount for frying

Fig jam

4 tablespoons

Quick salad

2 cups of arugula or mixed greens, 1 apple thinly sliced, and a handful of chopped walnuts.

Preparation steps

STEP 1 - The perfect mixture

In a bowl, crumble the goat cheese and add the chopped Serrano ham and a generous touch of pepper. Mix everything with a spoon or clean hands until the ingredients are well combined. Form 8 spheres of the same size and place them on a plate. If you have time, put them in the refrigerator for 15 minutes; this will help them hold their shape when frying.

STEP 2 - The breading process

Prepare a station with three bowls: one with the flour, another with the beaten eggs, and the third with the panko. Pass each sphere first through the flour (shake off the excess), then through the egg, and finally through the panko, pressing gently so that the crust sticks well and is uniform.

STEP 3 - The crispy touch

Heat plenty of oil in a deep pan. When it is very hot, submerge the croquettes (do not overcrowd the pan). Fry them just until they are golden brown on the outside; the secret is not to leave them for too long so that the center remains creamy and the cheese does not spill out. Drain on paper towels.
